Stage 3 form BWPS and BPS participated in a culturual day

Disco Dancing at Stage 1 Teddy Bears picnic

All the students developed teamwork at Tabloid Sports.
The BVPS committee is committed to ensuring that all stakeholders are involved in the school.
There is a detailed plan to ensure that multiple opportunities for the children to work together prior to 2012 which has been developed with staff, student and community input.
In Term 1 2011 the following transition activities will take place.
Development of school purpose and vision
Students from Year 1-6 and community members will come together to answer the following questions:
Why do we come to school and what makes it important?
If we could have the best school in the world what would it look like?
What behaviours would you expect to see at this school?
After a student has attended this school until Year 6 what would we expect them to learn?
Combined Tabloid Sports Carnival
Students from K-6 will combine at BVPS site and complete a tabloid sports carnival which will promote team work and cooperation.
Torchlight Easter Egg Hunt
This fantastic event will start at 5:30pm where the whole community are invited to have a BBQ, have a chat and most importantly hunt for 1000's of Easter Eggs by torchlight.
All community members are invited to join us on this night!
In Term 2 2011 the following transition activities will take place.
Kindergarten
Kindergarten will visit OAKLANDS in Pambula together to explore the farm but importantly make new friends and work on cooperative social games. Mrs Reeve, Mrs Bobbin and Mrs Franks had a great day getting to know all the children form both schools.
Year 1 and 2
Year 1 and 2 utilised the Interactive Whiteboard to participate in a video conference with each other. Here they asked questions about each other's schools and found that they were very similar.
Later in the term the Year 1 and 2 students met at the Bega Valley Public School Site for a Teddy Bears picnic where they played games and went on a tour of the new school, learning where everything is.
Year 3 and 4
Year 3 and 4 had a great morning participating in a sports day developing teamwork skills as they played T- Ball, Cricket and Touch Football on the fantastic playing fields of the Bega Valley Public School. They then continued getting to know each other as they ate lunch and enjoyed the school play equipment.
Year 5&6
The future student leaders of Bega Valley Public School completed a unit of work focusing on learning about Bali. The unit culminated in a Cultural Day where children completed activities such as bag making, mask design, puppet making and food tasting . Parents then joined their children to share their learning about Bali at a sharing day in the last week of term.
